"Sew Simple Saturday" - October 2015

Hi everyone and welcome to our first Sew Simple Saturday! One thing that I LOVE about our Sewing and Crafting community is how much we like to share our knowledge and encourage and help others. So the FIRST Saturday of every month we will have a Linky Party to link up our tips, techniques and tutorials.Everyone loves and needs a little encouragement, so be sure and spread the comment love around!

I have a simple little Halloween project that is all Treats and no Tricks that I would like to share to get this party started! We live in a very rural area and just don't get many visitors at Halloween. Except for two little sweeties from down the road. I always like to make their Treats a little extra special. I usually give them a store bought bag each with a Caramel Apple, Halloween cookies and other sweet treats. Maybe even a little book or two. So this year I wanted to put to good use some cute little Halloween Hexagons:

I found these adorable little Gift bags that I think are just the right size for little ones! And I love the colors!
I took one of the Hexagon kits and made a hexie flower for the little girl! I decided to hot glue the hexie flower onto the bag. I left the papers in the hexagons so the glue would not come through the fabric. I think it is simple but really cute! Ashley will love the little Black Kitten!

For the little boy, I decided to use one of the strips from a Fat Quarter and create a Halloween scene across the bottom of the bag!  I used a lightweight Heat n'bond and simply ironed it on across the bottom of  the bag! (Only press it for about 10 seconds with a warm iron) I think Trevor will really like it!

I will have to wait until closer to Halloween to make the Caramel Apples and Halloween Cookies. I have plenty of time to shop for some fun goodies too! I love spoiling these two.
I can't wait to fill up these two bags with lots of goodies!

I hope they like their Trick or Treat bags! And I hope you enjoyed this Sew Simple  Halloween idea!

Now lets get this party started and link up your Sew Simple ideas, tips, techniques and tutorials!

Here are a few tips and guidelines!

1. Using the Linky tool below,  link to your blog post or face book post.
2. Be sure your face book post is set to public so we can all see it.
3. Be sure to link to your actual blog/facebook post not your blog/facebook homepage. We want to be able to find your Sew Simple link!
4.Please post the Sew Simple Saturday Button ( the button and HTML code are on the right sidebar of this blog)  somewhere on your blog OR include the text link in your post. It helps to spread the word. The more people that link up, the more fun and encouragement we will receive!
5.Visit as many of the other link ups as possible. Everyone loves to gain feedback on their hard work. And be sure and spread the comment love far and wide!
6. Following my blog is not a requirement, but it is greatly appreciated, plus you won't miss a thing!
7. Be sure and stop by our sponsors , Aurifil  and Fat Quarter Shop, and let them know how much you appreciate their continued support and giveaways! They are the most awesome companies that truly love our community!

Two winners will be chosen using Random Number Generator and the two winners will be announced Wednesday October 7th!
One winner will receive this STUNNING 10 Large Spools Collection from Aurifil!

The second winner will receive a $25.00 Gift certificate from the Fat Quarter Shop to spend in their online shop ! Woohoo!!!!!!

The Link-up will be available Saturday October 3rd through 10:00 pm EST Sunday Oct 4th!
Please stop by and visit as many people as you can! Who knows what neat idea or tip you may come across!
Now,  Let's make some friends and let's PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. I don't have a blog and don't really use Facebook, but I've enjoyed reading all he tips. The main thing I clean my bobbin area with each new bobbin, change the needle frequently, keep components of the blocks organized, and change the rotary blade.

    3. Wendy, I'll be interested in what you find out. Jan, I did try putting the text link on facebook, and it showed another side bar button, not the Simple Saturday one. I love the simplicity of my Mac, but there are some things that just don't translate. Jan, I've enjoyed the tips on this post- thank you again!
