Patchwork of the Crosses, July 4th and Little dresses for Africa

Happy Independence Day America!
I have an Independence day inspired Patchwork of the Crosses block basted and ready to stitch together. I am going to take it with me this afternoon to a BBQ and picnic. The block is from our July 1930's & Feedsack POTC Block of the month Program. You can read about the Blocks of the Month program HERE!  I have 3 openings remaining if you would like to join in! Details here

I have also been working on my Little Dresses for Africa for our upcoming link up party.

I think I have 7 made including a little Tee Shirt dress.
This was easier to make than I thought it would be. I used a half inch strip of iron on stabilizer along the edge of the cut off tee shirt  to keep it from stretching while sewing on the skirt. It is a little more gathered than it looks in the photo.  I also found out that our local Goodwill store has a half off day this coming Saturday. All children's clothes will be 50% off so I hope to find some boy shorts and or tee shirts.
Aurifil has generously donated 2 thread boxes for our Little Dresses for Africa sew along and there will also be a gift certificate from Featherweight Quilt Company! You still have time to participate. The link up party will be July 15th through July 19th with the winners announced July 20th! You can read all the details and get the pattern links HERE!
Three more dresses to make and I will have reached my goal. But first, it is time to make some Potato salad and devilled eggs for the picnic!
Happy 4th of July everyone! God Bless this great country we call home!
Stay safe and thank you for stopping by!
WELCOME to my all of new friends and followers!
